There is no denying that business need to have an online presence to be successful, just opening their high street doors, unless selling a very local and personalised product or service, should sell electronically.
There are many companies globally who provide E-commerce platforms, the most popular being:-
Wordpress / Woo Commerce - A very scalable blogging, brochure and E-commerce based platform, perfect for businesses who require individuality and coded with plugins to take your business in many different directions. Costly in terms of development, constant security updates, high maintenance and higher hosting costs as a result. Not particularly user-friendly.
Shopify - Not so scalable in terms of design, but extremely user-friendly and built from the floor up to be a true E-commerce platform. Built in payment processor using Stripe, fraud protection system and self intuitive making it perfect for businesses to self manage their store.
